This list includes notable Management Consulting firms.

Management consulting indicates both the industry of, and the practice of, helping organizations improve their performance, primarily through the analysis of existing business problems and development of plans for improvement.

Organizations hire the services of management consultants for a number of reasons, including gaining external (and presumably objective) advice and access to the consultants' specialized expertise.

  • A.T. Kearney, A.T. Kearney is a global management consulting firm, focusing on strategic and operational CEO-agenda concerns. The stated mission of A.T. Kearney is to help the world’s leading corporations gain and sustain competitive advantage, and achieve profound, tangible results. The firm was ranked number 11 "best place to work for" in Consulting Magazine's 2009 rankings.[1]
  • Accenture, Accenture is a global management consulting, technology consulting and technology outsourcing company. It was previously incorporated in Bermuda but since 1 September 2009 has been incorporated in Ireland.[2] It is said to be the largest consulting firm in the world.[3] Accenture is a Fortune Global 500 company[4] with more than 186,000 people in 52 countries. For the fiscal year ended 31 August 2009, the company generated net revenues of US$23.17 billion.[5] Accenture's clients include 96 of the Fortune Global 100 (World's top 100 companies) and more than three quarters of the Fortune Global 500. Accenture has over 150 offices worldwide in over 120 countries.[6].
  • Arthur D. Little, Arthur D. Little is an international management consulting firm originally headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts and formally incorporated by that name in 1909 [7] by Arthur Dehon Little, an MIT chemist who had discovered acetate. The company is now owned by Altran group.
  • Bain & Company, Bain & Company is a management consulting firm headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. Bain has been named the "Best Firm to Work For" by Consulting Magazine for seven consecutive years[8].
  • Booz & Company, Booz & Company is currently the oldest management consulting firm in business (except Arthur D. Little above).[9] It was founded in 1914 by Edwin Booz. The company recently separated from parent company Booz Allen Hamilton, taking the entirety of its commercial consulting business as well as all consulting operations with government entitites outside the United States.
  • Booz Allen Hamilton, Booz Allen Hamilton, or more commonly Booz Allen, is a private consulting firm headquartered in Tysons Corner, unincorporated Fairfax County, Virginia, with 80 other offices throughout the USA. Edwin Booz founded the firm in Chicago circa 1914, making it one of the nation’s oldest consultancies.
  • The Boston Consulting Group, Boston Consulting Group is a global management consulting firm, founded by Bruce Henderson in 1963. It has 69 offices in 40 countries. BCG is generally ranked as one of the most "prestigious" management consulting firms in the industry.[10]
  • Capgemini Consulting, Capgemini is a French company, with a staff of over 91,000 operating in 36 countries. It is headquartered in Paris (Rue de Tilsitt) and was founded in 1967 by Serge Kampf, the current chairman, in Grenoble, France.
  • Deloitte Consulting, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (also branded as Deloitte) is one of the largest professional services organizations in the world and one of the Big Four auditors, along with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, and KPMG. According to the organization's website as of 2008, Deloitte has approximately 165,000 staff at work in 140 countries, delivering audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services through its member firms. Its global headquarters is located in Paramount Plaza, Midtown Manhattan, New York City, New York.[11]
  • Ernst & Young, Ernst & Young is one of the largest professional services firms in the world and one of the Big Four auditors, along with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Deloitte and KPMG. Ernst & Young is a global organization of member firms in more than 140 countries. Its global headquarters are based in London, UK and the U.S. firm is headquartered at 5 Times Square, New York, New York.[12] As of 2009, it is ranked by Forbes magazine the 10th largest private company in the United States.[13]
  • Hay Group, Hay Group or The Hay Group is a global human resources management consulting firm headquartered in Philadelphia, with offices worldwide. It was founded in 1943 by Edward N. Hay. In 1984 the firm was purchased by Saatchi & Saatchi, but returned to private ownership in 1990 after a management buyout.
  • Hewitt Associates, Hewitt Associates, based in Lincolnshire, Illinois is a global human resources (HR) outsourcing and consulting firm delivering a complete range of integrated services to help companies manage their total HR and employee costs, enhance HR services, and improve their workforces.
  • IBM Global Business Services, IBM Global Business Services (GBS) is the professional services arm of IBM Global Services, including management consulting, systems integration, and application management services.It is the worlds largest IT consultancy Services. GBS is also the highest revenue earning division of IBM.
  • IPL Information Processing Limited, IPL Information Processing, commonly known as IPL, is a British software services company providing management consulting and technical consultancy, IT solutions and managed services to public and private sectors[14]. The company's headquarters are in the World Heritage City of Bath, England. As of 30 September 2008, IPL employed a staff of 249 and posted a turnover of £22.8 million.[15]
  • KPMG, KPMG is one of the largest professional services firms in the world and one of the Big Four auditors, along with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (Deloitte) and Ernst & Young (EY). Its global headquarters are located in Amstelveen, Netherlands. KPMG employs over 135,000 people in a global network of professional services firms spanning over 140 countries.[16] KPMG has three lines of services: audit, tax, and management consulting.
  • L.E.K. Consulting, L.E.K. Consulting is an international strategy consulting firm, with headquarters in London. L.E.K. is generalist strategy consultancy with expertise across all major industries. It is a principal adviser to private equity, and was the number 1 adviser in number of transactions in Europe during 2007. L.E.K. is a leading adviser to the biotech industry and is known for its airline, surface transport, financial services and media and entertainment practices, as well as its expertise in alternative energy.
  • Matrix Knowledge Group, The Matrix Knowledge Group is a London-based consultancy providing software, research and advice to political organizations and charities. Their goal is to provide evidence and help with making decisions, with the motto ‘Better Decisions, Better World’[17] The group is made up of four companies: Matrix Insight Ltd[18], Matrix Evidence Ltd[19], Matrix Decisions Ltd[20] and Matrix Knowledge Group Inc. Although based in the UK, they have worked for European organizations, in India and recently opened an office in the USA. They have close partnerships with universities in the UK and USA, including the University of Cambridge, King's College London, London School of Economics and Political Science and several leading US academic institutions.[21]
  • McKinsey & Company, McKinsey & Company is a global management consulting firm that focuses on solving issues of concern to senior management. McKinsey serves as an adviser to the world’s leading businesses, governments, and institutions. It is widely recognized as a leader and one of the most prestigious firms in the management consulting industry.[22] It has been ranked No.1 for 6 consecutive years in the Vault.com list of top consulting firms,[10] and has been a top employer for new MBA graduates since 1996.[23]
  • Monitor Group, Monitor Group is a privately-owned global management consulting firm. It was founded in 1983 by a group of eight entrepreneurs with ties to the Harvard Business School: Michael Porter, Catherine Hayden, Mark Fuller, Joseph Fuller, Mary Kearney, Michael Bell, Mark Thomas, and Thomas Craig. Monitor provides services in the areas of strategy consulting, capability building, and capital services. Monitor Group is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has offices in 30 major cities around the world.
  • Navigant Consulting, Navigant Consulting is a specialized independent consulting firm providing dispute, investigative, operational, risk management and financial advisory solutions to government agencies, legal counsel and large companies facing the challenges of uncertainty, risk, distress and significant change. The Company focuses on industries undergoing substantial regulatory or structural change including Construction, Energy, Healthcare, Financial Services, Insurance and Public Services. Navigant Consulting has over 40 offices across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia. In 2008, it had a revenue of $748 million according to Forbes 200 best small companies. The company's stock is a member of the S&P 400 index.
  • OC&C Strategy Consultants, OC&C Strategy Consultants is a management consulting firm that provides strategy consulting to senior management in large corporations and organisations. Founded in 1987, the firm now operates from offices in Abu Dhabi, Boston, Brussels, Dubai, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hong Kong, London, Mumbai, New Delhi, Paris, Rotterdam, New York City and Shanghai.[24] Among its previous clients are BBC, The Guardian, ITV, Macmillan Publishers, the Telegraph Group, and Vodafone.[25] OC&C employs about 300 strategy consultants. Famous London office alumni include Charles Wilson (Marks & Spencer), Stephen Nelson (BAA), Alison Wood (BAE Systems), and Andy Anson (Manchester United).
  • Oliver Wyman, Oliver Wyman is an international management consulting firm. Founded in 1984, the firm adopted its current form in May 2007, when Mercer Oliver Wyman joined with Mercer Management Consulting and Mercer Delta to become one firm named Oliver Wyman. Oliver Wyman is headquartered in New York City with 40 offices in Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific and employs over 2,900 professionals. It is part of the Oliver Wyman Group, which is a business unit of Marsh & McLennan.
  • PA Consulting Group, PA Consulting Group is an international management consulting firm. As of 2007 it operates in more than 35 countries, working in both private and public sectors. It has won independent awards and recognition for its client work in financial services, energy, life sciences[26] and healthcare, government and public services, manufacturing, defence, and telecommunications.[27] PA's Report and Accounts for 2005 defines its services as: helping clients to design strategies for growth, achieve effective IT that improves business performance, mobilise human resources, deliver complex programs and major business transformations, and develop breakthrough products and processes. The latter are created at PA's dedicated applied technology facilities at Melbourn, Cambridgeshire, UK, and Princeton, NJ, USA. [28][29]
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers, PricewaterhouseCoopers is one of the world's largest professional services firms and the largest of the Big Four auditing firms. It was formed in 1998 from a merger between Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand, both formed in London.[30] PricewaterhouseCoopers earned aggregated worldwide revenues of US$26.2 billion[31] for the fiscal year 2009, and employed over 163,000 people[31] in 151 countries.[31] In the United States, where in 2009 it was the eighth largest privately owned organization, it operates as PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.[32] PricewaterhouseCoopers is a Big Four auditor, alongside KPMG, Ernst & Young and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.
  • PRTM, PRTM is a privately owned management consulting firm. The firm’s business centers on the areas of operational strategy, supply chain innovation, product innovation, and customer experience innovation. PRTM has been named by Consulting Magazine as one of the “Top 10 Firms to Work For” in 2006.[33]. PRTM offers expertise across these industry sectors: automotive, aerospace and defense, chemicals and process industries, communications, consumer goods and retail, electronics, energy and utilities, financial services, health care, industrial, private equity, public sector, and software.
  • Real Options Group, The Real Options Group is a management consulting firm specializing in the application of Real Options Analysis. The President of ROG is Dr. Lenos Trigeorgis, a pioneer in the field. Supporting ROG are both an academic and corporate advisory board. The Academic Advisory Board includes Nobel Laureates Myron Scholes and Robert C. Merton, as well as highly prominent names in the field like Avinash Dixit of Princeton University. ROG’s Corporate Advisory Board includes industry practitioners from leading companies such as Morgan Stanley, Boeing, FIAT, and Phillips. The company offers services in the areas of project design and valuation, portfolio management, corporate strategy, and scenario planning.   • Retail Remedy, Retail Remedy is a group of ex-retail senior level consultants with global hands-on experience in all aspects of retail. They are known for making regular appearances in national media retail commentary for the BBC[34]
  • Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is a global strategy consultancy firm based in Europe and founded in 1967 in Munich by Roland Berger. In 2008, the company's sales were approximately US$ 1bn. With 36 offices in 25 countries,[35] the independent partnership is solely owned by its more than 180 partners. Roland Berger Strategy Consultants is a generalist[36] strategy consultancy that advises leading international corporations, non-profit organizations and public institutions in all management issues. They provide support for strategic alignment, introducing new business models and processes, organizational structures and IT strategy.[37]
  • Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, The Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization, is an international holding company employing over 2,000 multi-disciplined professionals and operating out of 70 offices in the Middle East and North Africa, with representative offices in Europe, Asia and North America. The Organisation is a leading provider of professional services having established a total of 14 member firms and societies since its inception, in addition to being an affiliate of the World Bank, the Register of Accountants and Auditors (Washington) and the UN Center for Transnational Corporations (N.Y.). TAGorg is mostly noted for its role in supporting Arab innovators through promoting the concept and relevance of intellectual property rights (IPRs) in Arab countries during the seventies, particularly with the formation of Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP) in 1972, and later the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP) in 1987.[38]
  • The Saint Consulting Group, The Saint Consulting Group is a privately held management consulting firm based in Hingham, Massachusetts. The Saint Consulting Group works in land use consulting generating public support to help companies navigate the local governmental approval process. The firm pulls in $30 million a year by providing political experts, media experts, and lawyers on behalf of casinos, colleges, grocery and retail chains, medical groups, utilities and heavy industries.[39] The company employs approximately 85 land-use experts in 10 offices in the United States and an international office in London, England[40].
  • Schlumberger Business Consulting, Schlumberger Business Consulting is the Schulmberger's management consulting arm. Based in Paris, France, it specializes in the oil and gas exploration and production industry. The division was created in 2004, sponsored by Schlumberger CEO Andrew Gould. The division has seen rapid growth since its birth, and as of 2008 is a market leader in upstream management consulting.[41][42][43][44][45]
  • SDG Group, SDG group (Strategy.Decision.Governance) is a global management consulting firm specialized in Business Performance Management and Analytical Applications design and development. They operate worldwide in US, UK, Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, Cyprus and Greece.
  • Slalom Consulting, Slalom Consulting is a national business management and technology consulting firm, founded in 2001. Slalom is a division of Two Degrees, LLC, and is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, with offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
  • Tefen, Tefen is an international management consulting firm with its world headquarters in Tel Aviv, Israel. Founded in 1982, Tefen has amassed a global reach with offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Germany, Italy and Romania[46]. Tefen works with Fortune 500 companies to improve operations[47]. The company utilizes lean/six sigma methodologies and a hands-on process. Tefen focuses on operations excellence, quality and supply chain optimization[48]. The current CEO and Founder of Tefen Group is Aaron Lichtenstein and the COO is Eli Pelleg. Tefen is publicly traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) under the symbol TEFN[49].
  • The IQ Business Group, The IQ Business Group is a South Africa based consulting firm and outsourcing business. It was founded in July 1998. At one time, IQ was the largest unlisted technology company in the country. The Business has operations in South Africa, Australia and the United States. The business holds itself out as an innovative and creative learning environment for young consultants and IT employees.
  • Towers Watson, Towers Watson is a global management consulting firm. Its principal lines of business are human resource consulting and risk management. It also has a strong actuarial and investment consulting arm. Its corporate offices are in New York, New York.[50]
  • Value Partners Group, Value Partners Group is a management consulting firm, headquartered in Milan, Italy. It is recognized[citation needed] as one of the major European consulting firms, having engagements in 40 countries and offices in 15 cities: Milan, Rome, London, Munich, Helsinki, Istanbul, Dubai, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Mumbai, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore.
  • Walter Rhodes, Walter Rhodes is a Malaysian corporation founded in 2006 that focuses on management consulting, technology solutions, and outsourcing services . The firm was established to focus on developing an IT operational framework that helps manage technology-driven corporations. To date, Walter Rhodes has served more than 100 clients and sees a growing client base each year[51]
  • WS Atkins PLC, Atkins is a professional services firm providing engineering, design, planning, project management and consulting services, based in Epsom, United Kingdom. Formerly known as WS Atkins, it was founded in 1938 by Sir William Atkins. Atkins employs approximately 17,000 staff based in 180 offices in 25 countries. Projects have been undertaken in more than 150 countries. For the year ended 31 March 2008, Atkins generated annual turnover in excess of £1.3 billion. Atkins is the largest engineering consultancy in the UK, the largest multi-disciplinary consultancy in Europe, the largest UK engineering consultancy in the Middle East and the world's eighth largest global design firm. Atkins is also the highest fee earner in the league of UK engineering consultancies for the past nine years.
  • ZS Associates, ZS Associates is a privately owned consulting company, founded on September 21, 1983 by Kellogg School of Management marketing professors Andris A. Zoltners and Prabhakant Sinha. The company, which has grown to over 1,000 employees,[52] has provided primarily sales and marketing consulting to over 700 clients.[53] Around 85% of these clients are in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical products industries, while the remaining 15% are from the high tech, telecommunications, transportation, consumer products and financial services sectors.[54] Headquartered in Evanston, IL, the company has nine North American offices (including Boston, Chicago, Evanston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Princeton, San Francisco, and Toronto), five European offices (including Frankfurt, London, Milan, Paris, and Zurich), and four offices in Asia and the Pacific Islands (including New Delhi, Pune, Shanghai, and Tokyo).[55] ZS Associates was named the seventh best consulting company to work for in 2009 by Consulting Magazine.[56]
