The year 2012 saw the first times that stores in America reject the tradition of being closed on Thanksgiving Day, and started their holiday season sales on Thursday.
This practice encroaches on family celebrations by encouraging/forcing* people to stand in lines outside the store starting on Thrusday afternoon. More egrigiously, it cuts into or cancels the holiday of employees who get scheduled to work on Thursday. The employees need to arrive at the store much earlier than opening time to stock and prepare.
Every participant of the American economy, is encouraged to reject this trend since it means every business (including yours) will eventually consider if it's better for the bottom line to eliminate Thanksgiving national day of vacation.
As such, here is a list of stores that participated in the 2012 experiment to cancel Thanksgiving for their employees and customers. The only way they will conclude that their experiment failed is if the overall revenues for the period of Nov 22 - Dec 31 falls short of predictions. To help make sure that conclusion is reached, avoid shopping at these stores until Jan 1, 2013.

- "forcing" because people who plan and depend on getting the black friday deals must decide between disappointing their plans or going shopping on Thursday, and for many, that's not much of a choice.
